The sculpture of Len Shartle
can alight as easily on a garden wall as on an indoor setting. These mermaids, zodiacal animals and other mythical creatures
are made of a durable cement-like material which Mr. Shartle seals against water. Their surface is then covered with a copper
substance that when treated gives the figure the patina of weathered bronze. Each piece develops it's own unique coloration
as it ages and matures. Mr. Shartle has created many different designs in clay, from which he made the molds to cast the sculptures.
Finished pieces weigh about three to eight pounds and include hardware and wire all ready for hanging. | Shartle Sculptures21 Cove St. New Bedford, MA 02744 401-451-6379 |
